The student sees the relationship between the Holocaust and the destruction of the Jewish community in Poland.
Course of lesson
The topic may be introduced after the class related to the Holocaust.
The teacher explains the objectives of the lesson.
The teacher and students recall the most important facts and events that led to the extermination of Jews during World War II.
If the teacher has not familiarized students with the resources of the Worthy platform before, he shows the resources gathered there and informs how to search for artifacts and create collections.
The students' task will be to find three photos related to the Holocaust and to creating a collection using them.
Students search for photos that, in their opinion, comply with the stage of isolation, persecution, and the extermination of the Jewish community.
Each student presents one photo in the class forum. It is important to make sure that the photos do not repeat.
The student presents the photo and informs his classmates:
- what stage of the Holocaust it is related to,
- what the picture presents,
- who the people / places captured in the photo are.
The student justifies why he made such a choice, what impressed him the most.
Summary of the lesson:
- Why did the Holocaust happen?
- Could such events happen again today?
- How to fight anti-Semitism.
- Does the problem of discrimination also apply to other groups?
Homework:
Did Jews live in your town? What traces are left of this community. Take a photo - describe how this place is related to the culture, tradition or history of Jews in your town.
